The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior level Geologist to join our growing Geoscience team in Morgantown, West Virginia. This role will provide dedicated day-to-day geologic support to our subsurface and operations teams, helping develop key deliverables for Reservoir, Drilling, and Completions while maintaining and advancing our geologic mapping database. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical judgment, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate geologic data into practical insights that support operational execution, business development opportunities, and long-term growth.

Location
This is a hybrid position based out of our HQ Office located in Morgantown, West Virginia. You’ll be expected to work in the office three days a week.


What You Will Be Doing
  • Develop geologic deliverables and technical interpretations to support Reservoir, Drilling, Completions, and Operations teams.
  • Maintain and enhance the company’s geologic mapping database, including updating maps, cross sections, stratigraphic frameworks, and related subsurface interpretations.
  • Integrate well, geologic, petrophysical, production, and operational data to support field development, well planning, and ongoing asset evaluation.
  • Provide geologic input for drilling and completions planning, including target selection, well placement, risk identification, and operational support.
  • Support M&A and business development opportunities through subsurface evaluation, mapping, technical screening, and data room analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve workflows, strengthen technical quality, and support timely business decisions.
  • Prepare clear technical summaries, recommendations, maps, presentations, and decision-support materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Help capture and organize geoscience knowledge, data, and lessons learned to support department continuity and long-term succession planning.

Your Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science, or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Progressive experience in petroleum geology, development geology, operations geology, reservoir characterization, or a related oil and gas geoscience role.
  • Strong technical understanding of subsurface mapping, stratigraphy, structure, reservoir quality, well planning, and data integration.
  • Experience supporting drilling, completions, reservoir, or operations teams in an exploration and production environment.
  • Proficiency with geologic interpretation, mapping, and data management tools; ability to work with large technical datasets and maintain accurate geologic records.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities, identify risks, and develop practical recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex geologic concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must be able to work from the Morgantown office on a hybrid schedule, with availability to support field, operational, or business needs as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.  
  • Able to operate standard office/computer equipment. 
  • Must be able to perform physical work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.    
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments, including harsh weather and rugged terrain.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
